Since its inception in 2007, the Hot August Nights Foundation has supported 90 different organizations locally, distributing $1.5 million in grants, merchandise and scholarships.
The funds raised are made possible by three annual fundraising events. The annual Classics & Cocktails Dinner, the 50/50 Raffle during Hot August Nights events and the auction of a donated vehicle at the MAG Auction during the main event.
Our work revolves around making a difference and providing in-need or at-risk children in our community a more meaningful and productive life by supporting programs that are either limited or not available.

This is the main fundraising event for the Hot August Nights Foundation. Classics & Cocktails, held in the spring, is your opportunity to enjoy an evening learning more and hearing from recipients and special guests. Live entertainment, a live and silent auctions provide an opportunity to change the path of the children of our community. Your attendance supports the Foundation and our mission. The dinner offers sponsorships, table purchases and individual seats. Donation items are also accepted.
Each year, MAG Auctions proudly supports the Hot August Nights Foundation by hosting a live charity auction during Hot August Nights, helping us advance our mission while also raising funds for other Reno-Sparks area nonprofits. To date, MAG Auctions has contributed more than $500,000 to local organizations. You can be part of that impact by bidding on the Hot August Nights Foundation car during the MAG Auctions event on Saturday of the August main event.
Each fall, the Foundation proudly partners with the Boys & Girls Club of the Truckee Meadows to collect new and gently used coats to help keep local children and families warm during the winter months. Donations are distributed directly to those in need by the Boys & Girls Club, ensuring they reach the community members who need them most.
As our partner school, Hot August Nights Foundation volunteers support students throughout the year through a variety of meaningful opportunities, including hosting celebratory socials that recognize the children, their achievements, and their continued success.
Each year, our generous and talented volunteers handcraft colorful scarves for children in our community. Created to bring warmth — and a little extra brightness — to the winter months, these scarves are a labor of love, and the smiles they inspire make every stitch worthwhile.
If you’d like to donate a scarf (or two), scarves should measure 4½ inches wide by 60 inches long (not including fringe). Donations are gratefully accepted at the Hot August Nights office.
Each year, the Hot August Nights Foundation partners with the Boys & Girls Club of the Truckee Meadows to give children and teens in need a special holiday shopping experience at Kohl’s, pairing each youth with a Foundation volunteer or staff member to help make the season brighter.
Through our partnership with Swire Coca-Cola, the Hot August Nights Foundation collects, shops for, and donates toys to support the annual Toys for Tots program, helping bring joy, hope, and holiday magic to children in need on Christmas Day.
